Driver: Frank van Weerdenburg (Heesch - 48)
Since he got his first Unimog in 1996, Frank is near possessed of these unique vehicles. He takes an interest in modifying Unimogs and off-roading with Unimogs.

His day-time job involves running his own business that creates web-sites and web-applications, while behind a desk during working days, in the weekends he can be found in the workshop working at his Unimogs. He got used to handling a wrench when he was kid and helping his father to maintain several trucks and cars.

Frank enjoys challenges and adventure, he and his girlfriend Janneke took on a trip from Heesch to Dakar through the Sahara dessert with his other Unimog, see dakar.unimog.nl

The current challenge is to drive from Dresden to Breslau once more, last years participation and a finish on the 53th place begs for more action, Breslau, here we come!

Co-driver: Pieter-Jan Broeksteeg (Beugen - 59)
Pieter-Jan and Frank have known eachother for years, they were Boy Scout leaders for almost 10 years in Heesch. Pieter-Jan was an influence on the interest that Frank has in off-road sports as he himself is an avid off-roader. He and his Toyota's have seen plenty of off-road kilometers including plain old muddy ones, holidays in the Alps, Scottish Highlands, Belgian Ardennes and several times to North Cape.

His wide range of knowledge is a major addition to the team: he studied mechanical engineering, automotive engineering and finished a higher education in Car Mechanics. He had an internship with, amongst others, DAF and GINAF.

In his day-job, he's a production engineer with a large supplier specialized in car parts related to cooling. He's also responsible for the department where aluminum oil-coolers are fabricated.

During the first Breslau Rallye last year, the coorperation between Pieter-Jan and Frank got better along the way, especially during the heavier mental challenges, the couple really shined. A second attempt on finishing this rally is the obvious result, hopefully in less dusty conditions?

Old team members

Driver: Martijn Tonies (Oss - 48)
After the purchase of an Unimog 404.1 Radiotruck, Martijn soon discovered that the Unimog is an exceptional off-road vehicle. As things go, such a vehicle quickly becomes a hobby and soon a second Unimog arrived, a 404.1 "troop carrier", both trucks keep Martijn busy when he's not in his office as an entrepreneur in the IT-industry.

On the lookout for more adventure, Martijn discovered "Die Breslau Rallye" and his enthousiasm got Frank and others excited as well: team "Brabant-Breslau" was born!
After a succesfull attempt to make it to the finish in 2008, there are plenty of ideas for improvements for this years participation. Of course, we're trying to do even better this year and we surely hope to cross the finish line again!

2008: 98th (passengercars)
2009: 14th (light trucks)
2010: 17th (light trucks)

Co-driver: Mark van 't Land (Oss - 40)
Mark met Martijn years ago at the Scout-club Titus Brandsma in Oss, they have been leaders together for years. He has taken an interest in motorized vehicles since he was 14 while wrenching away at mopeds.

After seeing the Dakar rally on the television he once mentioned he would want to participate in a rally himself once, now that Martijn has invited him to do that, as a navigator, he grabs this opportunity with both hands.

After finishing his general education, Mark started automotive engineering in Arnhem, his first job was as a software egineer for autobuses. Since a few years, he's working at Spierings Kranen as an electro engineer, responsible for the development of hardware and software for the driving part of these mobile cranes.

Mark hopes he will be able to take his experience about maps and GPS to the rally and with Martijn, he wants to improve on the results of past years.
